How to set up cash gifts and online spraying
Let family give in naira or sterling, keep the money yours, and bring the spraying online for the relatives who couldn't travel.

For a lot of our weddings, cash is the gift, and spraying is the moment. Here's how to set both up so it's easy for guests and clean for you.
1. Offer more than one currency
Your family isn't all in one country, so don't make them all give in one currency. Offer naira and sterling at least, and euros and dollars if your crowd spans further. People give more freely when they can give in what they hold.
2. Keep the fees off your gift
Look for a setup where the platform doesn't skim your gifts. A fee-free cash gift means what family send is what you receive. Add bank-transfer and cash options alongside cards so nobody's shut out.
3. Be gracious about how you ask
A short, warm note does it: your presence is the real gift, and if they'd like to give more, here's how. Point to a home fund or a honeymoon fund so the giving has a story attached.
4. Bring the spraying online
Spraying is how appreciation is shown on the dance floor, and it's the thing relatives abroad most hate to miss. Let them spray from their phone during the reception, with a live board tallying each note, so the ones at home are still part of the moment.
5. Say thank you well
Keep a simple record of who gave what, and send your thanks personally afterwards. It costs nothing and it's remembered for years.
